You love running, or exercise in general, but you’re worried that you’re ignoring signs that are indicating that you’re hurting your body. Is it time to start paying attention?

[Tina]  I love running or exercising, but I’m worried I’m ignoring all the signs that seem to be indicating I’m hurting my body. I feel deep down that maybe it’s time I need to stop and listen.

[Amanda] I think your body and your mind’s telling you to listen. Listen! I think one of the coolest things to do is to listen as your body’s whispering, so it doesn’t scream. And maybe it’s screaming now, but  if you love something like you do running, it’s really, really important to figure out ways to be protective of that relationship and really keep it sacred to you. And if having those really, really hard conversations with yourself and saying, “Hey, maybe I need to look at this a little bit and see, do I need support here?” Look at that; get the support that you need, so that you can really honor that love that you have for running.

[Tina] Thank you, Amanda; that’s really helpful. One last thing I want to add on top of that is, I mean you’ve said it there. Your voice, that voice is screaming. You know it; the fact you clicked on this video right now, the fact you’re watching this, you know that’s the answer. You know you need professional help, and to go see the experts. And maybe for a while you’ve been trying to hope that it would be better, hope that it would come back on its own, but you know, if you’re watching this right now, it’s time. And it is terrifying, but that’s why we’re here, and that’s why the professionals are there, so you can do this.

[Amanda] I mean, if you’re really quiet with yourself, you know the answer.

[Tina] Thank you, Amanda.

[Amanda] Just get the support.

It will give you the opportunity to connect with the experts you’ve come to know here, and to surround  yourself with a community of others who are going through it too.
